DESKTOP INTERNAL TOOLS
In order for a car rental business to sell certain campaign to customers, they will need the ability to create such package. This feature lets our internal user teams to create packages based on what the business needs.
The admin team determines what type of campaign they can sell to customers and they need to be flexible enough as every countries have different needs and criteria.
Once they have set this up, then frontline sales team can then start selling the campaign with user’s choice of car models by setting up a reservation.
The main pain point for the business ops to make a package with the old design was that they can only set up one package with one car model.
This resulting in multiple duplicates of the same package and at the end of the day this becomes a headache for different stakeholders to go through admin. This includes finance, frontline sales team, inventory team, and there are others involved.
For example, as a business I would like to make a campaign of “Toyota Clearance 2019” with all of the Toyota models in the inventory directory (for instance there are 200 models). With the old design, I as a business ops user has to make 200 separate packages in order for me to create a package for that 200 models under “Toyota Clearance 2019” campaign.
In order for users to create one package under 200 models, they have to create 200 pages separately with the same information.
Instead of associating one model into one package, we wanted to have the ability in associating multiple models (depending on the inventory) into one single package.
Multiple stakeholders would be able to manage packages better, instead of having multiple of the same packages.
The business ops team need to be able to see all the current campaigns/ packages that have been created. This is the place where they can activate / deactivate certain packages, and also adding new packages when they are running a new campaign.
The first step to create a package is to choose car models to be assigned to this new package.
Once a package has been created, frontline sales team can select it from the reservation page.
